Xianzai Limited, a Cayman Island-based company with satellite operations and operating partnerships in Beijing, announced it is soon dissolving its Internet operations in China.
According to the company, this year's SARS epidemic caused financial problems for the startup, as most of its clients are hotels and travel agencies impacted by the sharp decrease in China-related tourism revenue. The company was also trying to come back from the sharp decline in global tourism marketing dollars caused by the terrorist bombings in the United States almost two years ago.
The company's CEO had actually departed daily operations at the company in early 2002, leaving the remaining management working part-time from early 2002 until now as the firm tried to build back its business lost because of activities related to the 9-11 tragedy.
