At CISMA 2003, China's premier technology and machinery show for the apparel industry, to be held October 21-24, 2003 in Shanghai's 'New International Expo Center,' Lectra will confirm its leadership position in China and provide interactive demonstrations, in-depth discussions, and solution analyses, showcasing its full range of advanced technologies.
With revenues of US $15.2 million over the last four quarters, Lectra has positioned itself as the leader in China. Present in China since 1986 via its subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Taiwan (1988), and its office in Shanghai (1994), the company continues to intensify its expansion strategy through the reinforcement of its teams, its offices, and its technological innovations. Developed in partnership with its growing customer base, Lectra introduces its latest technological product range, specially adapted for the Chinese market
The new Vector cutting systems, the Vector MPs¡ªwhich include VectorDenim MP, VectorFashion MP, VectorLingerie MP and VectorFurniture MP, designed to meet the demands of mass production¡ªprovide a much higher level of cutting quality, productivity and efficiency than the existing cutting systems, accounting for the constraints of various shapes and materials used. Diamino, the leading marker-making solution (more than 10,000 customers worldwide use Lectra's marker-making software), represents a new direction in the industry. Diamino version 5 is the result of significant developments, combining Lectra's 30 years of expertise in the development of CAD/CAM software and equipment, the experience and knowledge of its customers and users, and the latest technological innovations. Optiplan, the control tower of the intelligent cutting room, relies on the experience of more than 25 years in the forecasting and optimization of cutting orders. Its latest version now integrates a fabric inventory management system, enabling users to check the availability of raw materials while programming production orders.
Design solutions will receive special attention with a preview of the new version of PrimaVision. This software, which ergonomy has been redesigned, integrates the new color management solution developed by Lectra and Datacolor, as well as numerous new functions. It guarantees the integrity of colors at every stage of the design and development process and throughout various departments of the company.
In support of this mission, Lectra will launch its third 'International Advanced Technology Center' in China – an area of 1100 m² in the middle of Shanghai is now dedicated to Lectra's customers and offers them the most services from Lectra's teams of experts. In addition, three complete cutting lines have been assembled to replicate customer manufacturing conditions on demand. This new center will be officially inaugurated on October 22, 2003 during a ceremony presided over by Daniel Moreau, Executive Vice President of Lectra, and by Jean-Luc Aubert, Director Asia-Pacific. In conjunction with CISMA and the inauguration of Lectra's International Advanced Technology Center in Shanghai, Lectra will host an exclusive tour of some of the world's most advanced manufacturers in China, providing an inside look at the progress and innovative technologies deployed by these Chinese manufacturers.
