Zhang Zhijie, vice president of the China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC), said recently that will be glad to see cooperation between domestic and overseas companies in the field of electronic equipment for military application.
Zhang said that electronic technology, with its further application in the defense field, would be a vital factor in future wars.
According to Zhang, an international electronics exhibition will be held in Beijing next May — the 4th China International Defense Electronics Exhibition (CIDEX2004) is likely to become the biggest of its kind in the nation, said Xue Tingting, board chairwoman of the China Electronics International Exhibition and Advertising Co., Ltd. The show space will be 10,000 square meters and the items on display will include telecommunications systems, information systems, computer and network products, military electronic components, air traffic control communications systems, fire control products, radar systems, electronic support and reconnaissance systems and related equipment and testing systems, said Xue.
