Sabre Airline Solutions recently announced that China Eastern Airlines has selected AirFlite Schedule Manager to manage its flight schedules and improve its profitability across all regional, short haul and long haul routes.
Becoming the third Asian airline this year (after Singapore Airlines and Qantas Airways) to implement the new multi-user scheduling solution, China Eastern is also one of 13 airlines across Asia–including the four major China/Hong Kong-based carriers–to select the industry's leading scheduling application.
The new solution–based on an Oracle/Java platform–is a powerful flight scheduling system with comprehensive tools to help accomplish specific scheduling tasks during all stages of the schedule development process. AirFlite Schedule Manager also allows senior management to evaluate strategic scenarios such as fleet planning, code share partners and new destinations. The system provides schedulers with the ability to view the schedules in any number of ways. AirFlite Schedule Manager enables the quick allocation of appropriate capacity according to customer demand or during short-term disruptions–an essential requirement in today's ever changing aviation environment.
"In our drive to be a major player in the Asian region, this solution will go a long way to boosting our efficiency, tighten our accuracy and provide more decision support in an increasingly competitive market," said Mr. Hu, Zhen Ming China Eastern Airline Standing Deputy Director, Marketing and Sales. "Overall, we expect to see our top line revenues increase by between one and three percent. In today's challenging environment, we must focus on proven solutions that deliver the desired result."
