China Mobile (CHL) and its subsidiaries have announced the company's 2005 interim results.
In the six months ended June 30, 2005, the company's operating revenue reached CNY114.5 billion, representing an increase of 32.5% over the same period in 2004. EBITDA reached CNY62.7 billion, representing an increase of 27.2% over the same period last year. EBITDA margin was maintained at a relatively high 54.7%.
Profit attributable to shareholders reached CNY24 billion, representing an increase of 27.7% from the same period in 2004, and the Group's earnings per share was CNY1.22, representing an increase of 27.1% compared with the same period in the prior year.
Minutes of usage per user per month (MOU) enjoyed a stable increase and average revenue per user per month (ARPU) recorded only a moderate trend of decrease. As at June 30, 2005, the Group's total subscriber base reached 224 million and ARPU was CNY90.
The company has also resolved to pay an interim dividend in the amount of HK$0.45 per share for the year 2005. At the same time, China Mobile has proposed to set the dividend payout ratio at 39% for the full year of 2005.
