Telex Communications says it has acquired the manufacturing operations of Dongguan's Shinwa Teknik.
Shinwa Teknik, a Hong Kong based company, has been a long-time supplier to Telex of electrical subassemblies and wire harnesses used primarily by Telex's Advanced Communications Technology business unit.
In conjunction with this acquisition, Telex has established a new wholly owned subsidiary, Telex Shinwa Technology Limited, that will initially employ approximately 110 administrative and production workers at the Dongguan plant.
Telex Chief Executive Officer, Raymond Malpocher said, "This is of strategic importance to Telex as it diversifies our manufacturing base. With a seasoned management and technical team already in place at the Dongguan facility, we have the ability to quickly capitalize on being a low cost manufacturer which will position Telex to pursue opportunities in new and existing markets that were previously cost prohibitive."
Telex is a worldwide industry leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of audio and communications products and systems to commercial, professional and industrial customers.
Telex' product lines include sophisticated loudspeaker systems, amplifiers, wired and wireless microphones, military and aviation products, land mobile communications systems, wireless assistive listening systems and other related products.
