China Tietong has started to limit the downloading speed of P2P software in an effort to save resources.
China Tietong says it has already seen BT downloading speeds reduced since it started reducing access last month. For example, a 2Mbps bandwidth access has dropped from 180KB/S to about 20-50KB/S.
Besides China Tietong, Nanjing Telecom is also trying to control the Internet flow in order to save costs. The company says optimized networks can help operators remove about 20%-40% of traffic flow.
