China has completed the layout of the five major top nodes for its .CN domain name.
The five nodes are Beijing Unicom Node, Beijing Netcom Node, Beijing Technology Net Node, Guangdong Mobile Fanyu Node, and Guangdong Telecom Guangzhou Node. They will soon replace the original six nodes around the country and serve netizens across the world.
With the five top nodes put in place, the performance of China's Internet network infrastructure will be improved and network security will be enhanced.
Mao Wei, director of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), disclosed that the .CN domain name server handles more than 600 million domain name analysis requests each day.
At present, there are more than 1 million .CN domain names and over 110 million netizens in China.
