Taiwan's Princeton Technology has signed an agreement with Chinese home appliance manufacturer TCL.
The agreement authorizes Princeton Technology to use TCL's LCD-TV digital video frequency technology.
Chen Xiangzhen, a senior engineer from China Flat Display Engineering and Technology Research Center, has told local media that the transfer of TCL's technology to a company outside the mainland shows that China has made a breakthrough in the technology and is confident of passing it around the world.
Princeton is a Taiwan-based professional fabless IC design company. Since its establishment in 1986, PTC has become a leader in the consumer IC design market in Taiwan and dominant products include Multi-Media Audio Controller ICs, Display Driver ICs, Remote Control ICs, and Encoder/Decoder ICs.
