Guo Rui, a representative from China UnionPay's New Channel Service Department, has disclosed to local media that China UnionPay will expand its online banking system to the Internet and would take a lead in building an "anti-theft door" for its e-payment network to protect users' online transactions.
According to Guo, China UnionPay will expand the general usage range of its online banking system to the Internet by relying on the existing trans-bank exchange system and following the traditional POS machine pattern. In the meantime, it will train cardholders to form the habit of paying via internet.
Analysts quoted in local media say that China UnionPay, which is called the most powerful e-payment company in China with 610,000 ATMs, will help promote the development of online transactions after it builds up its "anti-theft door".
