Haier Group has formally joined EPCglobal, giving a big push to implementation of wireless standards in China.
With the improvement of various EPC standards and regulations and driven by the applications of retailers such as Wal-Mart and Metro, more manufacturers are beginning to use EPC/RFID technology. As of October, EPCglobal had more than 1000 members across the world.
EPCglobal is leading the development of industry-driven standards for the Electronic Product Code (EPC) to support the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in today's fast-moving, information rich, trading networks. EPCGlobal is a subscriber-driven organization comprised of industry leaders and organizations focused on creating global standards for the EPCglobal Network.
The inclusion of Haier into EPCglobal China will encourage more Chinese enterprises to use EPC's technology. Alos, with the unveiling of China's own EPC frequency at the end of this year, Chinese enterprises' understanding of EPC related technology and solutions will be further strengthened.
The EPCglobal Architecture Framework is a collection of interrelated standards for hardware, software, and data interfaces, together with core services that are operated by EPCglobal and its delegates, all in service of a common goal of enhancing the supply chain through the use of EPCs.
