After barely a more than a year, Google (GOOG) has announced that its global vice president and Greater China Co-President Johnny Chou is going to resign from the company on December 31 to pursue his own new interests.
Chou was responsible for Google's sales and business development in China and Google China says there won't be a new candidate in the short-term to replace Chou's position after he leaves.
In earlier October, it was rumored that Chou was to resign from Google China, but he denied the rumor at that time.
An electronics engineering graduate from Fudan University with two master degrees gained at The City University of New York and Princeton University, respectively, and an MBA degree from University of New Jersey, Chou worked in senior positions at UTStarcom (UTSI) before he joined Google on October 25, 2005.
