ChinaCache Inks Partnership With CERNET

ChinaCache has signed a strategic partnership agreement with China CERNET Network Limited.

Under the terms of the agreement, ChinaCache will provide CDN solutions to CERNET Network to serve its nationwide customers. ChinaCache will set up CDN service nodes at CERNET Network's data centers across the country.

Under the Chinese Ministry of Education, CERNET Network is the executing body of China Education and Research Network (CERNET) which provides network, technology and information services to more than 1,500 education and research institutions across the country. Its nationwide backbone network now covers more than 200 cities in 31 provinces.

"CERNET Network is very pleased to have established this strategic partnership with ChinaCache. The CDN solutions by ChinaCache will allow us to effectively reduce the operation bottleneck and to better serve our customers," commented Fu Xiaodong, deputy general manager of CERNET Network.

ChinaCache's total network capacity reached 100Gbps by the end of 2006.
