To promote the development of China's TD industry, China Mobile (CHL) will recruit 60,000 more beta users for its TD-SCDMA testing from June 5 to July 31.
China Mobile says that it will add the 60,000 beta users to further expand the scope and scale of its TD-SCDMA testing and have the users better experience the progress made by China's nationally-made 3G system to promote the fast and healthy development of the TD industry.
Different from the 20,000 TD users recruited in April, these new users will cover more industries and they will be selected randomly by China Mobile. China Mobile's clients in the eight TD cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Shenzhou, Xiamen and Qinhuangdao who have accessed to China Mobile's network for more than one year are eligible to join the test so long as they submit an application via the company's testing portal website tdtest.chinamobile.com. China Mobile will offer the candidates free mobile phones and data cards as well as a CNY800 subsidy per month for the testing.
In April 2008, China Mobile formally initiated testing and commercial use of TD-SCDMA and invited 20,000 clients from specified industries to join the relevant testing.
