Kaspersky Lab announced in Beijing that the company had launched the Chinese version of its all-in-one security solution, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.
This new version is the Chinese version of Kaspersky 8.0, which adopts a new anti-virus engine. Specially optimized for dual-core and quad-core CPUs, the engine can increase the scanning speed of the systems. In addition, it merges the 4D defending system, including registry defense, file defense, network defense and application defense, into its active defense technology and integrated firewall, which can automatically classify the security levels for the application software and implement different security strategies and visit controls in accordance with their different security levels.
Compared with Kaspersky 7.0, Kaspersky 8.0 adds new functions such as virtual keyboard, instant messaging protection, system restore and parental control. In the 8.0 version, Kaspersky also adds its cloud computing technology. With this technology, Kaspersky's users from all over the world can form a global security network and share information about the latest malicious programs through the network.
Two other software security manufacturers, Rising and Trend Micro, released their cloud computing technologies on July 16 and July 22, 2008, respectively.
