Chinese anti-virus software and online game provider Kingsoft has announced its financial situation for the third quarter of 2008, and says the company made total revenue of CNY217 million in the period, a year-on-year increase of 48% and an increase of 26% compared with the second quarter of 2008.
Of that total, the revenue of its online game sector and software sector accounted for 69% and 30%, respectively, of the company's total revenue. The revenue from the software sector was CNY64.5 million, a year-on-year increase of 41% and an increase of 3% compared with the second quarter. The revenue from the online game sector was CNY148.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 47% and an increase of 38% compared with the second quarter.
At the same time, the rapid growth of its WPS business in the corporate market and the outstanding performance of its online game JX Online World were the most eye-catching.
In the third quarter of 2008, the number of users who monthly booked Kingsoft's anti-virus software was 8.7 million, increasing 33% year-on-year. The company's new software products, including Kingsoft Ciba 2009, WPS Office 2009 and Kingsoft Duba 2009, have launched and these new products are expected to become the new growth points of Kingsoft's software business in the future.

As a classic product of Kingsoft, the legend and influence of the JX series is still going strong. In September 2008, over 750,000 people were playing the JX series games at the same time in overseas and domestic Chinese markets, which represents for the high quality and leading position of the JX series games in the martial arts game sector.
Kingsoft has reportedly organized its first wholly-owned overseas subsidiary in Malaysia to enhance its expansion into the international markets. In addition, its new 3D online game has entered the beta test stage and will be unveiled soon.
