After a half-year trial operation, Ctrip.com has launched its wireless mobile website m.ctrip.com. Consumers now can log on to the site via their mobile phones to book hotel rooms, buy airline tickets, and manage personal information.
Zhu Jianmin, senior vice president of Ctrip.com, stated to local media the WAP site is a complement to Ctrip.com's phone reservation and Internet reservation services, implying the breakthrough of mobile internet reservations for Ctrip.com and the start of 3G times for its travel services. The launch of m.ctrip.com, which further completes Ctrip.com's reservation platform, can also improve customer experience.
To better serve mobile Internet users, Ctrip.com has WAP and iPhone versions for different phone models. The website can automatically jump to its corresponding page according to the different models. It has also better interactivity and interoperability that can satisfy the reservation needs from tourists on the move within China.
Ctrip.com's mobile website now has already inked cooperation with major mobile phone manufacturers like Nokia, LG and Apple, and large mobile portals like Mobile.sina.com.cn. An Android release is set to debut soon.
