Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi province, has become the first Chinese city to promote tourism electronic contracts.

More than 200 travel agencies and 300 travel agency outlets will now all adopt the e-contracts for better handling of services between consumers and travel agencies in the city.

Wang Bingfu, the director of Taiyuan Tourism Administration Tourism Information Center, introduced that the e-contracts will be the only legal and valid contracts approved by the administration. Travel agencies have to apply for e-contracts online no matter if they are organizing or receiving tour groups. Information like the size of the tour group, tourist attractions, tourist bus, driver, tour guide and schedule should be all included in the contract.

The administration reminds tourists to sign tourism contracts with travel agencies and to check the legitimacy of agencies through Taiyuan tourism information website tylyhy.cn.
