To control and reduce environmental pollution caused by electronic information product waste, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China have jointly announced plans to establish a national electronic information product pollution control certification system in China.
In line with this move, the two government units have jointly formulated and published a "National Implementation Advice for Electronic Information Products Pollution Control Voluntary Certification". Accordingly, the pollution control certification system will adopt a unified product directory; apply unified certification specifications, certification rules, and conformity assessment procedures; and use a unified mark for all products.
A representative from CNCA said that the system will regulate and guide the effective supervision and management of the electronic information product pollution control certification; promote the sustained and healthy development of the electronic information industry; and encourage the manufacturing and sales of low-pollution electronic information products in China.
