According to Microsoft China, the company's Office 2010 software will be launched in the Chinese market on June 18, 2010, with the retail price of CNY398 for the family edition.
Office 2010 has reportedly added many innovative functions, including a universal notepad and photo editing capabilities. Since the launch of its beta edition, about 8.6 million users from around the world have experienced these functions, including over 500,000 from China.
Compared with the previous editions, Office 2010 has substantial improvements in video cutting, animation, and picture handling. Microsoft said that users now have increasing demands for the handling of videos in Word and PowerPoint files. The new Office 2010 aims to meet the demands and help users conveniently use videos and pictures in these files.
Targeting the Chinese market, Microsoft will launch a family edition of Office 2010 with the retail price of CNY398. This edition has three licenses to allow family and student users to install the software on three computers. The price is reportedly the lowest for Microsoft's Office 2010 sold around the world.
In addition, to provide convenience to users who want to purchase Office 2010, Microsoft has launched an online presale with Chinese Internet shopping websites, including Amazon.cn, Newegg.com.cn, 360buy.com, 8844.com, and Taobao.com.
