Hong Kong-listed TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited has established a subsidiary in Russia, where the company's mobile phone products occupy a 13% market share.

TCL Communication has been quite active in the global market. Apart from the launch of its new Android-based product in Hong Kong during the 2010 Mid-Autumn Festival, the company will also launch its complete series of new products in Kuwait in the coming week. In addition, it will soon hold a launch meeting with the Indian operator Tata Docomo for its new product OT-802 jointly developed with Yahoo.

According to a mobile phone market report lately published by the global market research firm iSuppli, TCL Communication ranked the seventh in the global market by sales during the second quarter of 2010. This has been the best result the company achieved over the recent years.

Meanwhile, TCL Communication stated in a report for August 2010 that it sold over three million mobile phones and related accessories during that month, 1.18 times as the same period of last year. During the first eight months of 2010, TCL Communication sold 20.14 million mobile phones and related accessories, 1.53 times as the same period of last year.
