China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has published a report for the operational state of the Chinese communication industry for the first nine months of 2010, stating that the country's mobile communication revenue reached CNY465.1 billion during the nine months, a year-on-year increase of 12%.
According to statistics provided by the MIIT, from January to September 2010, the total business volume of China's telecom industry was CNY2.27 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%; and the revenue of major telecom businesses was CNY667.51 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%.
At the same time, the mobile communication revenue accounted for 69.68% of the revenue of major telecom businesses, increasing from 66.42% in the same period of last year. The revenue of China's fixed communication was CNY202.41 billion during the nine months, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%; and it accounted for 30.32% of the revenue of major telecom businesses, decreasing from 33.58% in the same period of last year.
In addition, from January to September 2010, the total talk time on China's local fixed lines decreased by 19.3% compared with the same period of 2009; while the total talk time on the local mobile networks increased by 19.2%.
