According to latest statistics published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from January to October 2010, China realized accumulated telecom revenue of CNY2.544 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 20.7%; and that from major telecom businesses was CNY744.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
For details, the accumulated revenue from the mobile communications sector was CNY520.13 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%, and it accounted for 69.84% of the total revenue of major telecom businesses. Meanwhile, the accumulated revenue from the fixed line communications sector decreased by 3.6% year-on-year to CNY224.66 billion and it accounted for 30.16% of the total revenue of major telecom businesses.
Statistics also show that there were 1.142 billion phone users in China by the end of the reporting period. During the first ten months of 2010, the number of mobile phone users increased by 94.83 million to 842.044 million; while the number of fixed line phone users decreased by 13.653 million to 300.078 million.
With the development of China's 3G industry, the total number of 3G users of China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom has reached 38.64 million by the end of October. Of which, the number of China Mobile's TD-SCDMA users was 16.98 million, accounting for 43.9% of total 3G users in China.
In addition, the number of broadband users in China increased by 19.187 million to 123.164 million during the ten months.
