During the U.S.- China Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum, Chinese home appliances maker Haier Group and U.S.-based Honeywell signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the development and promotion of low-emission, high energy-efficiency products and solutions.
Under the MOU, the two parties will work together on several projects, covering home appliances, intelligent home systems, residential heating, and building automation. All these projects will focus on lowering emissions and improving energy efficiency.
Shane Tedjarati, president and chief executive officer of Honeywell China and India, told local media that more than 50% of Honeywell's product portfolio is related to energy and energy efficiency. The company believes their expertise in energy-efficiency, intelligent buildings systems, and automation and controls can meet Haier's demands in the energy saving field.
Their cooperation will bring benefits to more consumers by providing low-emission, high energy-efficiency products and solutions.
