Statistics published by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China showed that by the end of November 2012, China had 1.104 billion mobile phone users, including 220 million 3G users.
By the end of November, the number of Chinese phone users saw a net increase of 7.833 million, reaching a total of 1.38 billion. Of the total, 279 million were fixed-line phone users and 1.104 billion were mobile phone users. At the same time, the ratio of 3G users increased from 13% at the end of 2011 to 20% of total mobile phone users.
From January to November 2012, the number of Chinese Internet broadband users saw a net increase of 24.027 million, reaching a total of 174 million. The number of mobile Internet users saw a net increase of 111 million, reaching a total of 750 million.
The report also pointed out that during the first 11 months of 2012, China realized accumulated telecom sales business of CNY1.19 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. In addition, income from major telecom businesses reached CNY983.37 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%.
By region, major telecom business income in China's eastern, central, and western regions saw year-on-year increases of 8.4%, 10.3% and 13.3%, respectively. The top three provinces contributed the most were Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang.
