Yang Yuanqing, chairman and chief executive officer of Lenovo Group, announced via an internal email that Liu Jun, executive vice president of Lenovo Group, president of mobile business group, and president of Motorola Mobility management committee, will depart the company.
Meanwhile, Chen Xudong will replace Liu's roles, effective immediately.
The email did not disclose Liu's future career choice and only revealed that he will depart current positions and remain as special consultant for Lenovo mobile business for a period of time.
At the same time, the group announced via the email that Chen has been appointed the new leader of Lenovo's mobile business group and president of Motorola Mobility management committee, effective immediately.
Chen, age 47, joined Lenovo in 1993. He previously worked as president of Lenovo Greater China for five years. Under his leadership, Lenovo's PC market share in China increase from 26% to 36%, with doubled profit. In addition, he led Lenovo China's transformation to the Internet business model. In 2014, Chen was in charge of Asia Pacific emerging markets and accumulated extensive experience in cross-market and cross-culture management.
