Chinese social networking and Internet finance services provider Renren announced the appointments of Stephen Tappin and Robert Pu as new independent directors and members of the audit committee of the company, effective from December 5, 2016.
In addition, Tappin will be chairman of Renren's remuneration committee.
Tappin is the co-founder, chairman and CEO of the global CEO consulting service organization Xinfu. He was once the managing partner of Heidrick and Struggles, senior manager of ICI, and management consultant of KPMG. He has MBA degrees from Cranfield University and University of Washington.
Pu is CFO of Zhaopin.com, independent director and audit committee chairman of 55tuan.com, and independent director and audit committee chairman of 3SBio Inc. Pu once served as CFO of UTStarcom and CFO of Nuokang Biopharma. He gained his bachelor's degree at University of Illinois and MBA degree at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
At the same time, Renren announced that Shinzo Nakano has resigned from the director position due to personal reasons. Renren appointed Nakano as the company's independent director, member of the audit committee, and chairman of the remuneration committee in January 2016.
