Chinese telecom device maker Huawei launched its global OpenLab planning and the company announced plans to build 15 new OpenLab sites around the world over the next three years.
By establishing new OpenLab sites, Huawei will cooperate with global partners from various sectors and industries to create customer-oriented innovative industrial solutions, to promote digital transformation and industry ecology development.
According to the plans unveiled during CeBIT 2017, Huawei will add seven new OpenLabs in cities like London, Paris, Moscow, and Johannesburg in 2017 to increase the total number of its global OpenLabs to 12. By the end of 2019, the total number is expected to increase to 20. At the same time, Huawei will promote talent localization over the next three years.
So far, Huawei has established OpenLabs in five countries, including China, Germany, Mexico, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. Many large business organizations and government departments are using solutions developed by Huawei's OpenLab.
