Beijing Navinfo recently published an announcement, stating that the company signed a licensing agreement on autopilot map and related services with BMW China.
According to the agreement, Navinfo will provide Level 3 and above autopilot map products and related services to BMW Group's branded cars sold in China between 2021 and 2024. However, detailed sales amount and sales value will be determined by the sales of BMW Group's branded cars which are equipped with automatic driving system.
BMW Group has distributed in the autopilot sector for over ten years. In 2006, the group displayed its full automatic driving for the first time and it accelerated its autopilot layout since then. In April 2018, BMW Group officially launched its autopilot R&D center in Munich, covering various sectors from R&D to road test. In 2021, BMW Group will realize mass production of its highly automatic driving SUV iNEXT.
