China Mobile recently published its unaudited operating statistics for the first quarter of 2019, stating that the group's operating revenue was CNY185 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.3%; and its net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY23.7 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8.3%.
The statistics also showed that China Mobile's communications service revenue was CNY165.9 billion during the reporting period, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%; and its EBITDA was CNY72.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.
By March 31, 2019, China Mobile had about 931 million mobile users, including 723 million 4G users. During the reporting period, China Mobile gained a net increase of 10.67 million 4G users and its mobile ARPU was CNY50.3.
In addition, the company's mobile Internet data flow increased by 172% compared with the same period of last year; its mobile Internet DOU reached 5.7GB, a year-on-year increase of 162%. At the same time, its voice business continued to decline and its total call minutes decreased by 9.3% year-on-year.
In regards to broadband, China Mobile's cable broadband customers reached 167 million, a net increase of 10.34 million in the first quarter of 2019, and its cable broadband ARPU was CNY30.8.
