China Unicom and China Eastern Airlines recently signed a 5G cooperation letter of intent.

Under the agreement signed by the two parties, they will jointly implement new cooperation in the aviation sector, basing on 5G network, Internet of Things, cloud computing, AI technology, and video technology. Meanwhile, they will explore new applications such as intelligent traveler service and intelligent enterprise operation.

Liang Baojun, deputy general manager of China Unicom, said that China Unicom will fully use its resource advantage to actively promote the integrated development of 5G communications technology and aviation industry to provide a new drive for China Eastern Airlines' realization of smart air travel and smart operating management.

Feng Liang, deputy general manager of China Eastern Airlines, said that with the cooperation, China Eastern Airlines and China Unicom will jointly explore the innovative application of 5G technologies in the aviation industry. This is based on their long-term good relationship and it lays a solid foundation for their joint development in the future.
