China Telecom recently released its financial report for the first quarter of 2019, stating that the company achieved operating revenue of CNY96.135 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%.
According to the report, China Telecom's service revenue was CNY91.531 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%; its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was CNY30.238 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%; and its net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY5.956 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%.
The financial report also showed that during the first quarter of 2019, China Telecom's mobile users reached about 315 million, marking a net increase of 12.05 million. Of those users, about 256 million are 4G users and the net increase of 4G users was 13.67 million. In addition, China Telecom's mobile Internet data flow increased by 140% year-on-year and the monthly average data flow per 4G user was nearly 7GB.
At the same time, China Telecom's cable broadband users saw a net increase of 2.08 million, reaching about 148 million. The company's eSurfing HD users reached about 109 million.
