The world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) maker was forced to halt production at its Shanghai plant for 3 weeks last month after the Chinese government shut down the city to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The plant resumed production in April as part of a closed-loop formula that allowed staff to live and control regularly. In the closed-loop formula, staff worked 12-hour shifts, six days a week.
