The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Apple Inc. has told some of its contract manufacturers that it wants to increase production outside of China. The report added that India and Vietnam, which are already sites of Apple production, are among the countries listed as options by the company. Apple anticipated major supply problems last month as the COVID-19 lockdown slowed production and demand in China.
