American depositary shares of Chinese EV maker Nio NIO, +7.85% rallied 8%, while the ADRs of smaller competitors Li Auto Inc. LI, +1.50% and XPeng Inc. XPEV, +5.66% rose 1.5% and 5%, respectively.
