Chinese health officials released a statement on Thursday apologizing for the death of a 3-year-old boy whose father wasn't able to get him to a hospital during a COVID-19 lockdown. The boy's father wrote in a social media post on Wednesday that he had been unable to leave his housing compound in Lanzhou because of the country's strict coronavirus restrictions, according to the Agence France-Presse.
