The Telangana police recently arrested Sanjoy Deepak Rao, an alleged Maoist leader, wanted in multiple cases in different states including one in Pune. According to the police, Rao, 59, is the secretary of the Western Ghat Special Zonal Committee (WGSZC), South Regional Bureau, and a member of the Central Committee of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist). The Maharashtra government had announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh to anyone who could give information about Rao.
