Taiwan-based computer monitor and flat-panel television maker TPV Technology has announced plans to build two new plants in mainland China and Mexico, respectively.
According to TPV Technology, it originally allocated between USD72 million and USD100 million for its expenditure in 2009, but the company has raised the amount to between USD120 million and USD130 million and a part of the funding will be used to set up the two new plants.
Shane Tyau, vice president of TPV Technology, told local media that the construction of the new plants is in line with the rebound of the demands for flat-panel televisions.
In addition, the company said during the three months ended June 2009, it made net profit of USD39.8 million, a decrease compared with the USD51.4 million in the same period of last year.
