China Mobile and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China have signed an agreement to implement cooperation in various areas, including e-government, digital city development, and the upgrading of the existing urban management system to the TD-SCDMA network.
Li Zhengmao, vice president of China Mobile, told local media that China Mobile will provide 3G services to the digital urban management project and the MOHURD will be responsible for promoting the use of the TD-SCDMA network in the urban management systems of various provinces, cities, and regions.
Combining e-government and digital urban management, China Mobile will provide related resources to promote the utilization of the TD-SCDMA technology in the housing and urban-rural development sector.
Li said for e-government, the two parties will jointly improve the government's management efficiency and social service capacity in housing support and housing fund regulation.
For the research and promotion of the theories and technologies of digital city, the two parties will cooperate in urban disaster prevention and urban environment management and protection; enhance security supervision on the operation of urban infrastructures with the help of information technology means; and improve the ability to handle Internet-related emergencies.
