Silicon Laboratories Inc. today announced that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., has selected the Si3210 ProSLIC for its new multimedia products for voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), video telephony and Internet access equipment.
Huawei's new multimedia communication equipment allows customers to effectively deploy voice, video and data communication over the packet network. Silicon Laboratories' Si3210 ProSLIC provides a complete analog telephone interface enabling interaction between the packet and the traditional telephone network.
As the only CMOS-based subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) on the market, the Si3210 ProSLIC integrates SLIC, codec and battery generation functionality into a single low-voltage integrated circuit. Combined with Silicon Laboratories' Si3201 linefeed integrated circuit, the Si3210 packs maximum performance and flexibility into a 1.5 in2 footprint, making it the smallest single-channel telephony interface available. The integrated tracking battery supply, a patented feature unique to Silicon Laboratories, continuously adapts its output voltage to minimize power and enables the entire solution to be powered from a single 3.3 V or 5 V supply. Software configurable features include an adjustable internal ringing generator that supports up to 90 VPK and five ringer equivalency number (REN), DTMF generation and decoding, and a comprehensive set of telephony signaling capabilities for global operation with only one hardware solution.
