Earlier this month, Linktone spent over one million CNY and signed an agreement with an authorized agent of Shanghai Film Group to obtain the exclusive rights for "editing, developing, broadcasting and promoting in the wireless value-added field" the film 2046, which is scheduled for public release on September 28.

However, although the film has yet to have it's public release, companies are already making money from pirated versions of the film. Linktone is currently in talks with two of the most prominent violators, but has reserved the right to take legal action against them if it chooses.
