Chinese telecom device maker Huawei has launched its new high-end storage product OceanStor 18000 V3 in Beijing and disclosed its storage business performance in 2014 and its business growth goal for 2015.
Its global storage business sales reached USD534 million in 2014, a year-on-year increase of 55.6%. Of the total sales, nearly USD180 million was from overseas markets, covering industrial customers in 150 countries. For 2015, Huawei aims at 60% growth for its storage business.
Ma Yue, president of Huawei enterprise business in China, said that information and communications technologies such as mobile broadband, cloud computing, big data, and Internet of Things are becoming the transformation engines of various industries. Huawei predicted that by 2025, there will be over 100 billion connected devices in the world. This offers Huawei both a challenge and an opportunity to store, handle, send, distribute, obtain, and display such large data traffic.
This new-generation high-end storage product OceanStor 18000 V3 is positioned as an enterprise data center core application. It can provide customers with reliable, flexible and effective data storage services in key business storage, virtual environment storage, disaster recovery, and data center disaster recovery.
