A new survey shows 80% of Chinese college dropouts are addicted to the Internet.
Dr. Gao Wenbin, director of the Psychological Consulting Center at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and leader of the "Rainbow Program" that teaches Internet abstinence, told Xinhua that college students comprise a major group in society that are addicted to using the Internet. He says based on the survey results he will launch a new therapy regiment this year to help former students free themselves from their need to surf online.
He says the therapy includes prevention techniques that will be publicized nationwide within this year.
