China Unicom recently announced that the company will set up a 5G innovation fund for 5G application investments, with initial scale of CNY10 billion.

China Unicom said that its 5G innovation fund has features like longer duration, wide coverage, stability, flexible method, and rolling development. The launch of the fund represents an important step of China Unicom's 5G application innovation alliance. With the help of capital, it will accelerate product incubation and promote the construction of 5G industrial ecology.

At the same time, China Unicom's network technology research institute director Zhang Yong released China Unicom's 5G ultra HD live broadcast platform. It is an end-to-end full process platform which provides one-stop services.

Liang Baojun, deputy general manager of China Unicom, said that China Unicom's 5G application innovation alliance has gained progress in various sectors. The members of this alliance have reached over 600, covering the entire industrial chain.
