Chinese telecom device maker ZTE formally launched its European network security lab in Brussels, capital of Belgium on July 10, 2019, showing the Chinese company's efforts in improving network security and transparency.

Prior to this, China's Huawei already established a network security transparency center in Brussels.

Zhong Hong, ZTE's chief security officer, said at the launch ceremony that with the establishment of this network security lab, the company hopes to provide highly transparent safeguard to global clients, regulatory Authorities, and other stakeholders via verification and communication. ZTE is willing to be an active participant and contributor in industrial security and work with various parties to promote network security.

It is said that the new lab in Brussels will provide more extensive external security verifications for ZTE's products, services, and processes while promoting the company's cooperation with stakeholders in the security sector.

In May 2019, ZTE launched network security labs in Nanjing, China and Rome, Italy.
