China's Intelligent Grouping and Resources Sharing Working Group (IGRS) has entered into an alliance with its counterparts in Japan and South Korea, and the three parties have jointly launched the Asian Home Network Commission.

IGRS was launched in 2003 by China's Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Information Industry, Legend Group Limited, TCL Corporation, Konka Group, Hisense Group and Great Wall Computer Group. It is a technology working group which strives for industry standards development in the area of information technology.

This new Pan-Asia commission will be committed to digital home network promotion and industrialization, drafting relevant standards and promoting the standards around the world.

Yang Nan, secretary general of the IGRS work team, says that the establishment of this regional organization will strengthen the cooperation on digital home network standards in Asia.

At present, there are three digital home network standards in China: IGRS, e-jiajia of Haier and DLNA from Intel.
