China Netcom is strengthening the supervision of Little Smart service providers (SP) who are frequently the target of consumers' complaints of overcharging.
A representative from China Netcom's marketing department says that the company will manage Little Smart SPs more strictly in the future. China Netcom Group Corporation has decided to suspend the operations of the two core services 116.com.cn and Little Smart SMS by March 31 in order to fix problems that cause consumers grief.
Since May 2005, China Netcom has punished several SPs across the country who were found sending users many messages without offering unsubscribing methods.
