Guo Ping, vice president of Huawei, says that driven by the strong market demand in Asia, Huawei's sales will reach US$11 billion this year and US$15 billion next year.
Guo says the Asian market growth has greatly boosted Huawei's mobile phone service, and it is estimated that the company will sell 20 million mobile phones in 2006 and 30 million in 2007, an increase of 50%.
Guo also says that Huawei will sell 1.5 million notebook computer wireless reception cards, but he does not mention how much income this will bring to the company. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the ITU conference in Hong Kong.
Guo adds that the sales from overseas countries account for 70% of the company's total sales. Huawei's clients include Telefonica, British Telecom and China Mobile.
