Internet cafes in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, plan to employ a number of network tutors, providing a more complete service to youthful net surfers.
Zhao Tong'an, director of the provincial cultural department's market section, said that network tutors would be hired by Shijiazhuang's Internet cafes from April as a measure for standardized management.
The tutors are expected to be responsible for 'safeguarding' net users from websites concerning violence or pornography, and helping them to deal with computer problems. Following the recent government crackdown on Internet, users under the age of 18 would only be allowed to logon for 2 hours on weekdays and 4 on holidays. The tutors would remind them to stop when the time limit expires.
